Since 2022, Dögg Guðmundsdóttir has developed a series of works that explore the life cycle of furniture and objects. Central to this practice is A Lifetime, a multifunctional piece that can serve as a bed, sofa, and bench, and in its final phase transform into a coffin. Alongside this work are biodegradable urns Aska and the gravestone A Peaceful Place, where the patina and gradual transformation of the materials over time form an active part of the piece. These projects have further led to the development of a cradle, designed to change function after first 6 months and be passed down through generations.
